Punjabi singer Ranjit Bawa’s recently released YouTube song ‘Mera Ki Kasoor’ has given rise to a new controversy. A police complaint has been filed against him for hurting religious sentiments. The song, released last Saturday, is alleged to have some lyrics that allegedly bring evoke to Hindu religious sentiments.
On Sunday night, Hindu leader and Punjab Youth BJP’s media in-charge Advocate Ashok Sarin Hikki filed a complaint through video and twitter giving video evidence due to the Corona virus curfew lockdown in police station in Jalandhar city. A copy has been sent to Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, DGP Dinkar Gupta, Governor VP Singh Badnaur, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Jalandhar Police Commissioner.
Ashok Sarin said that during this disaster, a singer like Ranjit Bawa released such a wrong song, the faith of Hindu society is hurt. He demands from the police administration that the harshest action should be taken against the singer. Also, the controversial song should be removed from YouTube as soon as possible. Ashok Sarin said that he has lodged a complaint against singer Ranjit Bawa against the song writer Bir Singh, music director Gurmoh, video director Dhiman Productions and Bull 18 Company.
