Deepika Padukone is currently living it up on a much-needed break with her doting hubby Ranveer Singh. The couple, who has been very busy with their film projects, is currently cooling off their heels and enjoying some downtime on a tropical getaway. Once back home, Deepika will immerse herself into her home productions – ‘The Intern’ remake and ‘Mahabharata’.
For the highly anticipated epic drama, told from Draupadi’s perspective, the actress revealed in a recent interview that the film is her most ambitious project yet and will be on a bigger scale. She said that making the Mahabharat will not be like any other film, right from the scale of the budget to the costumes. She also went on to add that it will take five times longer to execute the project.
The film that she announced much before the release of ‘Chhapaak’, is expected to hit screens in 2021.
Till date, the actress, who will be co-producing the film with Madhu Mantena, has not announced the supporting cast or the director of the project. Her recent visit to ‘Padmaavat’ director, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s office gave rise to speculations of another possible collaboration between the two.
Until then, fans can expect to see her star in director Shakun Batra’s untitled next, co-starring Siddhanth Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday.
